What are vegetable weight loss smoothies? At the beginning of 2016, I decided to do an awesome and cool weight loss diet experiment. Without knowing much about vegetable weight loss smoothies, I started with this vegetable smoothie detox. The result from my weight loss diet was amazing. I lost 8 pounds! (Which I did not really want at all), had a lot of energy and I was free from my sugar addiction.

Why vegetable diet loss smoothies?
The numbers do not lie. Many women suffer from overweight and obesity, especially as they age. Fewer people receive and consume their recommended portion of fruit and vegetables every day. This figure is especially shocking, especially among children. Just the facts at a glance:
- 48% of all American people suffer from overweight. This means that more than 7 million people are too fat.
- Only 10% of all adults in America eat enough fruit.
- Vegetable is eaten even less. 5% of American people eat enough vegetables.
- It is even worse under children. Only 1% of all children in America eat enough vegetables!
Just a few questions; are you also completely admit that you are too fat? Do you sometimes have little energy and do you find it hard to get through the day? Or maybe you are not comfortable and you have little confidence?
I know how you feel. I lived until about a year ago with coffee, cigarettes, sugar (especially chocolate) and bread. The result was that I actually constantly feel bad about my body and health. Whether it was coffee, cigarettes, chocolate or alcohol, I was actually addicted to everything.
I think this is relevant for many of us. And you know, you cannot really do anything about it. Because go shopping in the supermarket. See how much junk food is offered. Alcohol, candy and soft drinks … And then also the bonus offered at the supermarket. 35% discount on an apple pie … Okay, I’ll buy it!
The food industry has us completely in control. Often without us knowing this for ourselves. We think we are eating healthy, but if you look carefully and are honest with yourself, this is often a bad thing.
Lose weight with vegetable smoothies
I myself have lost 8 pounds with vegetable weight loss smoothies in a week. How? By drinking only vegetable smoothies for 7 days. This detox period last for 3 days and maintenance is for 2 days. Now you’re probably wondering how I did this exactly. My schedule looked like this:
- Disaster period prior to the vegetable smoothie weight loss diet
- Day 1: no meat, fish, eggs, cheese or meat products. No sweet or savory snacks. No bread, rice and pasta.
- Day 2: No caffeine and alcohol. No products baked in fat or oil.
- Day 3: Switch to two meals and eat about half of what you usually eat. No dairy. Only eat fruit and vegetables.
- Meal schedule during the smoothie diet
All the vegetable smoothies I drank during my detox period consisted of 700 ml of smoothie spread over 3 smoothies. The ingredients below I mixed in a blender with 200 ml yoghurt or water.
- Day 1: salt and sour smoothie. Bah Bah. This smoothie was really horrible. I almost had nausea while drinking it. Not really motivating, is it? I would not recommend this smoothie.
- Day 2: vegetable cocktail smoothie, including tomato, carrot, onion and red beets. I also did not like this smoothie super nice. I was not fully aware yet how you really make tasty vegetable smoothies. Now I’m happy with it!
- Day 3: mixed vegetable smoothie. It contained celery, carrot and red beetroot. This was reasonably ok.
- Day 4: red beet smoothie. Ingredients: red beets, yogurt, handful of blackberries and a glass of orange juice.
- Day 5: vegetable cocktail smoothie. See day 2.
- Day 6: mixed vegetable smoothie. See day 3.
- Day 7: apple carrot smoothie. Ingredients: 1.5 apples and 5 large carrots and 200 ml yoghurt.
- After only 7 days of vegetable smoothies drink you are really finished with it. I have never been so happy with a bite of solid food after 7 days. For me that was a bite of banana. Can you eat everything immediately after a vegetable smoothie detox? No, you have to build up slowly again. Hereby my build-up schedules.
- Maintenance after the vegetable smoothie weight loss diet
After the weight loss diet, I used the following schedule for the maintenance period:
- Day 1: A piece of fruit for breakfast. Small dish of oatmeal as lunch. In between I ate some fresh vegetables or a rice cake.
- Day 2: Oatmeal and a piece of fruit for breakfast. For lunch you use a maximum of 2 crackers or rice cakes. For dinner you can eat stir-fried vegetables and some raw vegetables. In between fruit or a rice cake.
- Day 3: Same as day 2, only now you can also use a piece of fish or tofu at dinner.
- In total, the vegetable smoothie diet lasts 13 days, including 3 days of finishing and 3 days of building up. Then you can basically eat everything again. But here lies the secret of green smoothies. If after this detox you would definitely change your diet. Then you can really get a healthy and slim bikini body. Forever! 2 golden tips: stay slim after the vegetable smoothie weight loss diet
Let me be very honest with you. You can easily lose between 5 and 10 kilos in a week with this diet. But as the word diet suggests. If you just pick up your old diet after the diet, then those kilos come back in no time.
To permanently lose weight with smoothies, you will have to change your eating pattern permanently. I now give you 2 golden tips to start right away:
- Hooray, you’ve been kicked out of your sugar addiction: keep it this way
Because you have hardly eaten sugars for 13 days, your sugar addiction will be gone. It is a utopia to keep it that way, we all know that. So every now and then you can eat some goodies (sugars, junk food). If you only have balance. So no whole pack of cookies, whole bar of chocolate or that whole bag of chips. No more! You are not like that at all. You do not need it and it’s just filthy.
- Replace junk food for healthy snacks
After your smoothie detox, make sure you do not get any chips, cookies and other junk food anymore. If you eat it, do it outdoors. For example at a party, but at home junk food is no longer welcome. Instead, from now on you can eat tasty carrots, nuts or drink green weight loss smoothies of course!
